ADOPTABLES & CURRENT FOSTERS

DelcoDawgs takes in many sick or broken animals.  Since the rescue is focused on fixing the broken, healing the hurting and reuniting the lost, we will not have a lot of adoptable dogs.  But we do have a lot of current fosters and permanent fosters currently undergoing medical evaluation, treatment or care programs.

There's a lot of furry faces to see here. So, please take your time to get to know our dogs.

Adoptables

Abby

Breed:  Petite Pittie/Small Breed Mix

Approximate Age: Young

Size: Medium

Good with: older kids, dogs (with proper, slow introduction)

Other Info: No cats

Abby is the sweetest girl and would make a great best friend! Abby is about a year old so she still has a lot of energy and puppy behavior.  She is not good with cats.  She loves people and does well playing with most dogs (after controlled and slow introduction).  She is strong so may not meaning knock a small child over. Abby is full of love and kisses. She is well trained and fully housebroken but needs someone to help her get out her energy. She likes activities, walks and hikes so she's ready for her next adventure with her forever family. She loves the beach and the snow and is an all weather kind of girl!

Current Fosters

More Bios to come soon!

Jerry & Harry (Bonded Pair)

Breed: French Bulldog

Approximate Age: Young

Size: Small

Good with: older kids, dogs

Other Info: N/A

This bonded pair is as sweet as can be, with a bit of a wild streak. They have 0 manners and are always down to make a mess!

Harry (the white one) is completely deaf, has been diagnosed "on the spectrum" and has the attention span of a gnat.   His favorite pastimes are shredding, chewing, aimlessly wandering and eating.

Jerry (the black one) is a big man in a small body.  His favorite pastime is to flex his muscles for all the other dogs he sees.

Housebreaking this duo has been a bit of a challenge because they are so clever.

This pair get bored easily and are currently starting their interior decorating business.  They are currently working on rearranging furniture, creating a mobile bed trend for a different view at each nap and standing in their water bowls to paint the room for a more aquatic feel.

They are currently in foster and we will post if and when they become available for adoption.

For now, you can donate to their care by sending indestructible chew toys, pee pads, paper towels or wipes.

Java

Breed: Mixed Breed

Approximate Age: Young

Size: Large

Other Info: N/A

Java came to us from ACCT months ago, she was time stamped, emaciated and wobbly. She was a candidate for refeeding syndrome, so her foster had to take special care. She is putting weight on but is still wobbly on her feet. Once she is able to be spayed, we will have that done and her foster (Barbara Ann) will be adopting Java afterwards!  For now, you can donate to her care by sending indestructible chew toys, pee pads, paper towels or wipes.

Carley

Breed: Mixed Breed

Approximate Age: Young

Size: small

Good with: older kids, dogs

Other Info: N/A

Carley is such a happy puppy. Carley is our paralyzed little girl who had her tail amputated and spinal cord surgery and has been seen by the neurologist today. Her incisions are healing beautifully.  She still needs to have her bladder expressed by her foster to avoid UTI's and she still dribbles and leaks urine a bit, BUT she has what seems to be more control over her bladder and does not pee on herself anymore. That is HUGE! She wears diapers, BUT when in her crate is doing well without them! Her left leg will not change, too much due to nerve damage from the compression on her spine.  Her right leg is getting stronger and there is feeling and motion. She has started therapy/rehab to work on strengthening the right leg. If it does happen, then down the road she could be able to walk on 3 legs. If her right leg is strong enough,  we would amputate the left leg and she would be able to walk as a tripod. If it doesn’t get strong enough, she still will have more use of right leg and will be able to use a cart/wheelchair. The future is bright for this beautiful girl!  She is currently in foster and we will post if and when they become available for adoption.  For now, you can donate to her care by sending diapers, toys, pee pads, paper towels or wipes.
